Refunds
Effective 8 October 2026 · Giftivus, a trading name of Ringfence Industrial Limited
The rule
Cancel any time and you keep Pro until the end of the year you paid for. We refund in full if Giftivus fails you: an outage, or a bug that stops you using what you paid for. Otherwise we don’t refund part-years, except where the law gives you that right.
This promise is in addition to your legal rights. It adds to them. It never takes them away.
What “fails you” means
- Giftivus doesn’t do what we said it does, and we can’t fix it in a reasonable time.
- You can’t use what you paid for, for a long stretch, because of a problem on our side. This includes an outage, and a bug that stops you using Pro or Family.
- You were charged by mistake, charged twice, or charged after you cancelled.
What we don’t refund
The rest of a year you’ve paid for, once you’ve started using your plan, if you decide to stop. Cancel instead: your plan stays until the year is up, and it doesn’t renew.
This applies to Pro and to Family. If you join a Family while you have your own Pro, your own renewal is cancelled at its next date, and we don’t refund the rest of your year. If you close your account, the same rule applies: your plan runs to the end of the year you paid for.
At checkout
Before you pay, we show you the renewal terms and ask you to tick a box to agree that your plan renews every year until you cancel. We also show this line:
Start now. I understand I lose the right to a refund once I start using it, except where the law gives me one.
That line means what it says. Once you start using your plan, we don’t refund the rest of a year because you changed your mind. We still refund where Giftivus fails you, as above, and where the law gives you a right.
Your legal rights
Some places give you a right to cancel within a set time, or to a refund when a service isn’t as described or isn’t supplied with reasonable care and skill. Nothing on this page takes those rights away.
- A cooling-off or withdrawal period. Where the law gives you one (for example, 14 days in the EU and the UK), you can use it. You ask in the same way as any other refund request. When you start your plan straight away, we may keep a fair share for the days you’ve used, where the law allows that.
- Consumer guarantees. In New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the EU, the law gives you rights if a service isn’t up to standard. These stay whatever this page says.
- Paddle decides legal claims through its own terms. Paddle is our reseller, so you bought your plan from Paddle. Paddle’s buyer terms say how a legal refund claim is handled. We’ll work with Paddle to put it right.
If you’re not sure whether you have a right, ask anyway.
How to ask
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Ask Paddle | Reply to your Paddle receipt, or go to paddle.net. Tell Paddle what went wrong and the date you were charged. |
| We look at it | A person reads your request. We work with Paddle to put it right. |
| Paddle refunds you | Paddle sends the money back to the card or account you paid with, and emails you to say so. The money can take a few days to show. |
Paddle’s receipt email also links to Paddle’s own refund process.
If a refund ends your plan
A full refund ends your subscription and your account moves to Free at once. Nothing you saved is deleted. Only new additions that need a paid plan will ask for one.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it starts. A change doesn’t affect a year you have already paid for. The date at the top is the version you’re reading.
Billing questions
Paddle handles billing as the merchant of record. For billing questions, go to paddle.net or reply to your Paddle receipt.
